Guests
Guests are welcome. A guest performer may be brought in for the purpose of completing an ensemble or by special invitation. After attending a meeting as a guest, a prospective member may request a membership form from an officer.Â
Membership types
There are three types of membership: performing, non-performing, and honorary.
Performing Members are expected to perform at least once in two years and are encouraged to attend meetings when not performing. Performing members schedule a performance date by contacting the Program Chair. Programs are generally filled in order of requests, though exceptions can be made by the Program Chair, e.g. to aim for a uniform theme orto ensure variation. The Program Chair will determine the length of the program; when extra time is needed to play an entire piece, musicians should reserve a slot well in advance. Performing members may choose to become non-performing at any time.
Non-performing Members are listed in the Directory as non-performing. They may choose to become performing members at any time.
Honorary Members are members who have been recognized by the Board for their exceptional musical or organizational contributions to the Club. Their names in trhe Directory are indicated with an asterisk, and their dues are waived.
Dues
Dues are paid by all members, honorary members excepted. Annual dues are $20 for individuals or families and must be paid by the end of May to ensure a menber's listing in the Directory. New members will pay when they join; if they join in the Spring, their dues are considered payment for the following year. Dues are used to cover operating costs and, through annual donations as determined by the Board, to stimulate the study of music in the community.
